Tips on caring for your instrument
-
Keep your instrument in a case or on a stand in a secure place. It is easy to knock your guitar or ukulele over and end up with a nasty dent.
-
Change your strings regularly. You should change your strings at least every 6 months, preferably every 4. Old strings won't stay in tune and won't be as comfortable to play. They also can damage your frets over time.
-
Clean your instrument after you play. Use a damp polishing cloth (used only for your guitar) to wipe any sweat or grime off your instrument before you put it away. Do not use any cleaning products on your guitar it will damage the finish. There are guitar polishes out there, but you need to make sure you get the right kind for your guitar.
If you need your strings changed or have repairs you need done to your instrument feel free to ask me about it. I offer discount repairs for students.
I also recommend Shomaker guitars in Burlington. They always do a great job with repairs.
